What is microdermabrasion? The SkinBase™ Facial microdermabrasion treatment uses a stream of non-allergenic crystals to remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. Your therapist will use the handset to direct the stream of crystal over the treatment area and, where necessary, target specific zones. The handset then uses a mild suction to draw away the crystal and skin debris to reveal your new and improved complexion.

The SkinBase™ Facial is chemical free and non-invasive yet achieves amazing results revealing younger, healthier looking skin from the very first treatment. The skin’s appearance is further improved through increased collagen & elastin production as your body produces a new layer of skin.

Microdermabrasion is an effective skin rejuvenation procedure that requires no downtime, allowing clients to resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. The procedure is extremely popular because it is painless yet effective with minimal redness, swelling or irritation.

Microdermabrasion is commonly used to treat and diminish:

  • Acne & Acne Scarring
  • Dull & Tired Skin
  • Fine Lines & Forehead Wrinkles
  • Uneven Skin Tone, Brown Spots & Blotches
  • Pigmentation & Skin Blemishes
  • Ageing Skin
  • Stretch Marks

The SkinBase™ Facial microdermabrasion treatment takes approximately thirty minutes, depending upon the skin condition, the area to be treated, and the desired outcome. Radiance also offer a 45 minute Luxury MD Facial and a 70 minute Deluxe MD Facial that both include the SkinBase™ Facial microdermabrasion treatment.

Many will notice improvements in the texture and appearance of their skin immediately after the first treatment. Your skin may appear red after treatment, this is perfectly normal and any redness will generally subside within 72 hours.

We recommend that you adhere to the following advice after having microdermabrasion treatment:

For 12 Hours Post-Treatment

Do not wear heavy make-up.

For 24 Hours Post-Treatment

No swimming, facial waxing or fake tan application.

For 48 Hours Post-Treatment

No sauna, sun beds or sun exposure.

No botox, collagen injections or dermal fillers.

For 72 Hours Post-Treatment

Do not use any anti-ageing creams, AHAs, glycolics, retinol or exfoliating products.

During a course of microdermabrasion SPF 15 minimum must be applied and exposure to UV should be avoided.
